I thought it was about time I started a new series on my blog. This one is all about those items in my makeup collection that I seem to forget about. Those items I just don’t use all that much any more. I want to make this a monthly thing whereI go through my collection and choose about 5 products I haven’t really been using and try to incorporate them in to my makeup routine for the next month. I thought I would document it through blog posts so you can also see what my thoughts are on these products before I start using them again and then in the next months post, what I ended up thinking about them.

I find as someone who is always buying new makeup, which can be a bit of a problem. I have so much makeup that I sort of end up neglecting and just not even remembering I own. For September I’ve gone through my collection and found 5 items I want to incorporate in to my makeup routine and see if I end up liking them again or maybe even see if it’s worth even keeping them anymore.

The first item in this months Shop My Stash is the Cover FX Power Play Foundation. I purchased this earlier this year after hearing a couple of people on Youtube rave on about it. From what I can remember I really do like this foundation, the thing is this year has become one of me buying new foundations every now and then and in return forgetting about some of the onesI have previously bought. I want to try though the course of the next month use this foundation at least 2 times a week. I know the colour was a bit off which is one reason I don’t use it that often, but at the same time I remember it looked nice on the skin and had a pretty decent amount of coverage.

Next up is the Urban Decay All Nighter Concealer. Something else purchased this year after hearing people rave on about it. Though this time I remember not being the biggest fan of it. I found it was a bit hard to blend out with a sponge which is how I like to blend out my concealer. I also found it too end up looking heavy on my under-eyes. For this month I want to try blending it out with a brush and seeing I like it that way. I might also try and be a bit lighter with how I set the concealer as I have a feeling that also contributed to it looking a bit heavy and cakey.

Something I was obsessed with when I first got it is the Maybelline Master Strobing Liquid in Light/Iridescent. I do love the way this looks on my skin and the glow it gives but recently I just haven’t use anything but powder highlights. Now that the weather is starting to get nicer as we are in spring I thought it would be a nice time to start doing more glowing makeup and I feel like liquid highlighters helps with that. I wan’t to use this as much as I can, especially on days when I’m either going for a subtle glow, as in applying it under foundation or face powder. Or even when I want a more vibrant glow with a powder highlight applied on top. I think I may just end up loving this again.

Sticking with cheek products, a couple of months ago now I bought the Make Up For Ever Artist Face Powder in SS12. I got this as a bit of a contour shade. I don’t really contour all that much these days, much prefer to just bronze the skin. I decided to purchase this powder as it would be a bit more of a subtle contour but I’ve not really used it all that much. I’m thinking on the days where I’m doing slightly more dramatic makeup I might get my self to use it. I feel like contour works really well with a dramatic/glam eye. Really helps to tie the look together.

Lastly for this months Shop My stash I want to get more use out of the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette. I love anything peach but I rarely use this palette any more. I much prefer the new Peaches and Cream palettes. I feel like the shades in the Sweet Peach palette aren’t really what I think of when I think of peach shades. I want to try and at least use this palette when I’m doing more softer makeup as I feel like I can create a softer peach eye look with it. Though I’m not too sure I’ll end up liking it as much as I hope I will.

So those were all the things I'm going to incorporate into my makeup routine this month. I'm looking forward to seeing how these go. Will let you know how it all goes in next months post.

Until next time...
