Current Go-To Foundations

For me I’m not really wearing makeup if I’m not wearing foundation. It’s quite possibly the most important part of any makeup routine. With that being said I have used so many different foundations over the years and thought I would share with you in this post my current go-to, top favourite foundations. The ones that just have been working well for me and I keep going back to use them again and again.
I’m going to start things off with a product which actually isn’t a foundation, it’s my favourite base for a lesser coverage kind of day, when I don’t want my makeup to be too heavy. The IT Cosmetics CC+ is the perfect everyday kind of base. As it’s a CC cream and not a foundation I find it’s not as heavy as most foundations which gives it a more natural finish on the skin whilst still providing decent coverage. I find myself gravitating to this the most out of any base product I own. It’s easy to apply and blend which also makes it great from when I’m in a rush in the morning. It’s just an all round great base that if definitely worth checking out if you have not already.
When it comes to foundation I love something that has a lot of coverage. Something that is going to give a good even base for my makeup. Quite possibly my favourite foundation of them all is the Too Faced Born This Way. I only purchased it earlier this year but do wish I’d tried it earlier. It provides such a good amount of coverage whilst at the same time not looking to heavy. There’s just something about this foundation that makes it work so well for me. I love blending this out with a sponge as it picks up some of the excess product which keeps the skin looking healthy and not cakey at all. It has pretty decent staying power on the skin, the best of any foundation I’ve tried and I just love it. A staple of my makeup collection for sure.
A foundation I feel like everyone either loves or hates is the Huda Beauty Faux Filter Foundation. I personally really love this foundation. Again prefer it when it’s applied with a sponge. It has a high coverage without looking cakey. I also quite like the finish on my skin, but it all depends on the primer I use. One thing that I don’t like is the shadeI have, it’s a bit too yellow for my skin tone but it’s easily fixable when mixed with lighter, more pink toned foundation. Overall I love using this foundation and would recommend checking it out if you haven't already,
I have recently been getting in to trying new stick foundations though none of them compare to the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Stick Foundation. I wanted to include a stick foundation as I love therefor days when I’m doing a full face of makeup but want something that’s going to be quick and easy to apply. One thing I love the most about this foundation is the finish. It has a slightly dewy finish which I think looks amazing on the skin. Some stick foundations I’ve tried have either been to dry and matte or too creamy but this is more of an in-between that works amazing on my combination skin. Though I will say out of all my foundations this is the one that I will only use a brush to blend out as a sponge takes too much time with this foundation,
Last go-to foundation I want to mention is a new one for me that I only recently purchased but have not been able to stop using. In my last post which was my colourpop haul one of the things I got was the No Filter Foundation and for such an affordable foundation I already love it. I won’t go in to too much detail about what I think of this foundation as I hope to have a review up in the near future. But one thing I will say is I love the coverage, the finish and the staying power. I’ll go in to more detail in the review.
There you have it, all my current go-to foundation / bases. I’d love to know what bases you have been loving in the comment section below.
Until next time,
Brooke
