What I've Been Loving - May Favourites

The end of another month is upon us. I’ve had a pretty good past month in may. Done so many cool things and tried so many new products. There’s a couple of things I just fell in love with this past month that I think are worth the mention.
I’ll start this months faves off with something I haven’t been able to stop using since I purchased it. I love a good lip colour but I have especially fallen in love with the Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip in Love Bite which is from the Eva Gatowski collab. The colour is the perfect everyday kind of ‘your lips but better’ shade. I also really love the ultra blotted formula. It applies easily and just gives the perfect sheer wash of colour which makes it look like you aren’t really wearing anything on your lips. It also feel that way too. I do plan on trying more of the Ultra Blotted lips in the near future.
As I may have mentioned before, this year has really become the year for me trying new foundations. One of those which I’ve had for a couple of months now is the Cover FX Power Play Foundation. I love this for a couple of reasons. One main one is that it has a pretty decent coverage but at the same time doesn’t look heavy on the skin. This foundation lasts quite well on my skin which I have been struggling with a bit lately. I also love the finish, it’s matte but not too matte. It’s just am all-round great foundation that I do recommend you check out.
Back in April Priceline had it’s 40% off Cosmetics Sale. One of the thing I picked up from that sale was the Australis Neautralize palette which has become one of my go-to’s of lately. I just find this palette is such an easy one to work with. It’s neutral shades make it great for days when I don’t want to do too much on my eyes or am maybe in a rush. One thing I really do love about this palette is the metallic shades. For an affordable palette they have some really good pigmentation. This Australis palette would have to be one of my favourite finds in the way of affordable makeup.
Blush, it’s something I love and do own a fair bit off, but there’s one blush palette I got not too long ago that I just have to mention. The Jouer Blush Bouquet Duo in Adore has become a go-to for me. If I’m applying blush it is the first palette I think of reaching for. It’s got two nice neutral peachy toned blushes that go with so many different makeup looks. This was my first time trying something from Jouer and I already know I’ll be buying more in the future.
Last beauty favourite for this month comes from Nudestix. Another brand I had never tried before. If you had seen my Sephora in-store haul from earlier this month than you would know that I purchased the Lip & Cheek Pencil in Whisper and ever since I have been using it non stop. It’s the perfect nude shade that goes with so many different makeup looks. I also love that I can just chuck it in my handbag (where it stays most the time) and apply it on the go without the fuss of an applicator or anything like that. Lip crayons like this are just an easy alternative to other lip products and I know for sure I’m going to try more from Nudestix in the future.
On to the non beauty favourites for this month and I’m going to start it off with music. For this month my favourite isn’t specifically a song but it’s Shawn Mendes The Album. I’m a massive fan of Shawn and his new album does not disappoint. It’s definitely worth giving a listen to. It’s different from his previous two but still has that same sound to it at parts which I really like. My favourite bit is all the new songs and vibes we get from this album. It’s going to be on repeat for some time now.
On to the moment faves and like most months these are based around concerts. Concerts are some of my favourite things in the world and this past month I was able to see two great bands. Firstly I got to see Tonight Alive which is a band I’ve been a fan of since high-school. This was my first time seeing them and they did not disappoint. The second concert I want to mention is 5 Seconds of Summer. If you didn’t know, they are my favourite band/artist of all time. I love those boys so much and flew all the way to Sydney just to see them. They always know how to put on the best show which means I always have the best time. I’m already going to see them on their next tour in August and I already know it’s probably going to get included in one of these posts.
I’d love to know some of the things you’ve been loving at the moment. Leave me a comment below.
Until next time,
Brooke
