My Thoughts: Recent Beauty Purchases

Purchasing makeup is something I've been doing less of this year. I've also found myself wearing makeup less and less as time goes on. I did still buy a couple of makeup bits over the past couple of months that I've been trying out. I thought it was about time I shared my thoughts on these products.

A couple of months ago now Colourpop released their collaboration with Zoella aka Zoe Sugg, one of my favourite people on YouTube. I got a couple of things from the collection but was most excited for the Brunch Date Palette, as I love myself a good eyeshadow palette, especially from Colourpop. And this one did not disappoint. For one the shade range is the exact kinds of colours I've been wearing recently. And even though I do enjoy my warm tones I've been delving back in to my more cool toned colours as of lately. The pigmentation is another plus for me. As it always is with Colourpop palettes. I find I can get a basic everyday kind of look with this palette as well as a slightly more dramatic look. The perfect mix of matte and shimmer. I would 100% recommend you check this out.

The Mecca Max Lip Whips are definitely not a new addition to my collection. I've had the shade nutmeg for a couple of months now but just haven't posted about it. The Lip Whip is quite possibly my new favourite easy, everyday kind of lip product. They have a (fluffy) applicator which makes for a soft application. I tend to just pat it gently over the lips and then blend in with my finger. If I'm going for a more obvious lip colour application I will swipe the applicator which deposits more product which means more colour on the lips. Perfect for keeping in the handbag and I already want to go buy the rest of them.

I feel like the hype is starting to wear off on the E.L.F 16hr Camo Concealer, but I for one don't think that should be the case. This is one of the best affordable concealers I've tried in a long time. If you're looking for a concealer with great coverage, that's not too thick and has a decent shade range then I would 100% recommend checking this one out. I've been using it for a couple of months now and it's surprisingly gotten more use than my Tarte Shape Tape which is my holy grail when it comes to concealing the under-eyes with a bright colour. Do go check this concealer out at Kmart.

Back to Mecca Max and they released a new foundation last month. The Selfie Skin Foundation has become my new favourite. I'm not usually one to try and foundation the second it comes out. But with a price tag of $28 I couldn't resist. I have the shade L3 Creme which is a great match for me. This foundation has the perfect amount of coverage where it's lightweight but also still covers everything. It also doubles as a concealer though I would probably never use it for that purpose myself it may be something you like in a foundation. One thing I will say is I wish the shade range was better. There's not as many shades as I probably would have liked there to be.

Lastly is a blush from Clinique. I purchased the Cheek Pop blush in Pink Honey Pop back in April but haven't been able to put it down since. When it comes to applying blush it's the one I'm always gravitating towards. It's soft in its pigmentation which I love. And just has adds a beautiful sheen of colour to the cheeks, which is exactly what I've been wanting at the moment when it comes to blush.
.
There are many more makeup bits I've bought recently that I could have also mention but I think this is enough for now. I'd love to know what you've purchased recently and what you think.
Until next time...
Brooke
